This Vacancy

This Maintenance Team role is hands-on and multi-tasking, with a focus on grounds and garden maintenance of Proteaflora’s 12 hectare wholesale nursery site. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the site is maintained and presented at a high standard at all times
  • Mowing and garden maintenance
  • Field plantation maintenance
  • Weed spraying
  • Maintenance to structures and equipment
  • Site improvement

2. Skills

You will have proven knowledge and physical capacity to use and maintain a range of small machinery such as mowers, tractors, brush cutters, weed sprayers etc. We also require:

  • Demonstrated experience in a handy person / maintenance role with physical capacity to carry out maintenance duties
  • Applied knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
  • Ability to use computer systems, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • A current Victorian driver’s licence (required)
  • Chain Saw, Chemical and / or Small Plant Equipment certifications desirable

3. Qualifications

  • Qualifications and / or experience in gardening and landscaping


  • Working week is 40 hours Monday to Saturday as rostered (5 days 7.30am to 4pm).
  • An additional 24 hours of leave per year in the form of 3 lifestyle days, for those odd days when you need to have your car serviced or have an appointment somewhere.
  • We provide uniform, protective clothing and training (both internal and external).
