The heart of Proteaflora has not changed since founded by the late Peter Mathews in 1974: to be a trustworthy supplier of quality proteaceae backed by expert knowledge, sales support and customer understanding.
It’s a philosophy maintained by brothers David and Andrew Mathews and their wives, Ilse and Sue.
Over three hectares at Victoria’s beautiful Dandenong Ranges, they and 20 expert staff grow half a million, quality plants annually for nurseries, commercial landscapers and cut flower specialists around the world.
Underpinning the company is Peter’s innovation in developing proteas as a major cut flower and nursery crop, and a continuing strong investment in people and the gardening industry.
